The Lumiere

THE CLIENT

The Lumiere is a new hotel concept on the Adriatic coast. The vision was to establish an innovative brand identity for an ultra-luxury hotel that will become a new landmark of Dubrovnik and one of the leading luxury resorts in the Mediterranean region. A place of power with a holistic approach, and architectural design that incorporates the sea, the rocky coast, and the magnificent gardens.

THE OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project was to create a strong concept and consistent branding for a hospitality concept that offers contemporary experience of luxury and exhibits a direct connection with the surrounding nature.

THE SOLUTION

The logotype of The Lumiere is inspired by the hotel’s architectural concept, and the overall shape mimics the hotel’s extended low profile. Clean design language of the typography reflects the contemporary and elegant character of the building. The spaciousness of the hotel is translated into the ample room between the letters, which serves also as a hint to the immersive surrounding nature.

The color palette of the branding plays within the natural warm-toned materials, which are also used in the hotel interiors – from light travertine to cypress wood.

Our vision of the interior design begins with an inspiration from the masters of warm minimalism – David Chipperfield and John Pawson, being infused with the tranquility of the zen spells of Kengo Kuma, and given a finishing touch by a medley of modern Brazilian sensibilities by Marcio Kogan.
