THE CHALLENGE
The Frankly Speaking required an identity that captured a sophisticated yet unconventional approach to the business of sensory branding: the rigour of strategic thinking paired with genuine creative instinct. The challenge was expressing that duality while positioning them as a credible voice in both brand development and the wider cultural discourse around scent.
THE SOLUTION
The identity balances refinement with directness, echoing TFS’s dual nature. A sophisticated serif logotype conveys authority and precision, while a minimalist ‘TFS’ monogram adds contemporary anchor. A monochrome palette, rooted in the Latin origin of perfume, per fumum (“through smoke”), suggests the ephemeral, transient qualities of scent.
Abstract, fluid key visuals extend the system, evoking sensory experience through ethereal textures and dynamic silhouettes. These compositions convey both control and spontaneity: deliberate in their craft, open in their interpretation. Together, the elements form a cohesive visual language that communicates expertise while retaining an air of intrigue.
